CASE HISTORY 3

Middletown, NJ • Fall 2008

Shore Environmental was contracted to perform a full gas station decommission in Middletown, NJ in the fall of 2008. After securing local demolition and NJDEP permits, work began draining the lines and removing the pumps.

The next step was to uncover the four 5000 gallon tanks and purge them with air while being continuously monitored. This was done utilizing an LEL meter (lower explosive limit) to prevent an explosion during cutting/cleaning.

The tanks were then removed from the ground, inspected for leaks (none found) and transported to a local recycling facility.

Finally, the site was backfilled up to grade using certified clean fill.
